# Utility

The native cryptographically secure fungible protocol token for the PoP protocol ($CHAMP) is a transferable representation of attributed governance and utility functions specified in the protocol/code of the PoP protocol and which is designed to be used solely as an interoperable utility token.

$CHAMP is a functional multi-utility token which provides incentives to users to participate and contribute to the Prospect ecosystem. This creates a mutually beneficial system where participants are vested in the success of the ecosystem. The distribution of $CHAMP is specified in the [Tokenomics](/prospect/usdchamp/tokenomics.md).

### 🏛 Governance

$CHAMP holders have governance rights that enable participation in key decision-making processes. This ensures that the community is aligned with the direction of the PoP protocol. Governance items include:

* Launching new sports (NFL, NHL, MLB, UFC, etc.), this will dictate the growth the community.
* Qualifying new sports in the protocol (Rock Climbing, Poker, Pickleball, F1, Boxing, etc.), this aligns incentives for new sports organizations to acquire $CHAMP for marketing and legitimization.
* Determining which sports stats should be indexed on-chain.
* Evaluating which sports stats are significant to maintain relevancy and usability.

The community does not have legal control over any matters relating to the Company (or any of its affiliates) or any of its assets, or any of its affiliated companies (including without limitation to the selection of governing board of the relevant company, over corporate matters, development direction, specific projects, or deployment of that company’s assets, which shall be the final responsibility of the governing board of the relevant company).

### ⛓ Access to On-Chain Data

$CHAMP holders have access to secure, reliable, and immutable on-chain sports data. By staking $CHAMP, users, blockchains, smart contracts and applications can use Prospect's on-chain sports data for many different use cases.

### 🤖 Access to ProspectAI

$CHAMP holders have access to the ProspectAI Prediction Model. This model will be trained on Prospect's real-time sports statistics, odds/probabilities and proprietary user data. By staking $PROS, users, blockchains, smart contracts and applications can use the ProspectAI Prediction Model for predictions and insights into various sports-related outcomes.

### 🤝 Transactions

$CHAMP are used in [ProspectPicks](/prospect/vision/prospect-picks.md) and [ProspectArena ](/prospect/vision/prospect-arena.md)to compete with other players.

$CHAMP does not in any way represent any shareholding, ownership, participation, right, title or interest in the Company, the Distributor, their respective affiliates, or any other company, enterprise or undertaking. Additionally, $CHAMP do not entitle token holders to any promise of fees, dividends, revenue, profits, or investment returns, and are not intended to constitute securities in any relevant jurisdiction. $CHAMP may only be utilized on the PoP protocol and ownership of the token carries no rights, expressed or implied, other than the right to use $CHAMP to enable usage of / and interaction within the Prospect ecosystem. The secondary market pricing of $CHAMP is not dependent on the effort of the Prospect Sports project contributors, and there is no token functionality or scheme designed to control or manipulate such secondary pricing.
